The 2012 Exhibition (Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th June 2012
Six months on from the 2011 show, the seventh show organised by Wigan FRS was held in it's new Summer slot for the first time on the weekend of Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th June 2012. The show, held once again at Wigan's Robin Park Sports Centre (opposite the DW stadium) and spread over two halls, was hoping that the move from Winter to Summer would avoid clashing with the Premier League football fixtures and hence attract many more visitors. In the event, the gamble seemed to pay off; the place was busy as usual on the Saturday; families and enthusiasts alike came from many miles around the country to admire the layouts and to pick up some purchases...
The following is a small selection of the layouts in attendance; my many thanks to their owners for permission to have their work recorded.
